India has started the manufacturing of a scaled-down model of the BrahMos Russian-Indian supersonic missile.
The new missile will weigh 1.5 tons; it will be some 6 metres long and will boast a range of approximately 290 kilometres.The missile is meant for the Indian Air Force, and is due to be test-fired in a matter of 18 months to 24 months.
