Syrian President Bashar al-Assadstopped his visit to the city of Homs on Tuesday, March 27 after his cortege was attacked, RIA Novosti reported citing Al Arabiya. Syrian state-run media did not report on the attack.
Assad visited the troubled Baba Amr neighborhood in Homs on Tuesday, pledging a “return to normal life” for the city.According to new UN data, over 9,000 people have lost their lives in Syria since the outbreak of an uprising against President Bashar Al-Assad a year ago. Syrian observatory for human rights said the number of victims is getting closer to 10 thousand, 7 thousand of them are civilians and the rest are the Syrian army soldiers.
